Lucky Mensah Praises Akufo-Addo’s Free SHS Policy, Jabs Mahama in New Video

The Nana Akufo-Addo administration has officially launched the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, sparking excitement among many Ghanaians.
Highlife musician Lucky Mensah, a known supporter of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), is among those celebrating the initiative.
To express his enthusiasm, the musician – who previously defected from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) – released a video in which he praises President Akufo-Addo.
In addition to commending the president, he also takes a swipe at former President John Mahama for not implementing such a policy during his tenure.
In the short clip, he sings in Twi: “Adeɛ abaranteɛ antumi anyɛ, akɔkora ba ayɛ w’abɛyɛ,” meaning “the old man is doing what the young man could not.”
The NDC, for its part, had proposed a progressively free SHS system, which would have taken longer to fully implement because they believed the NPP’s version was not financially viable.
