In a statement signed by the Regional Minister, Kofi Amoakohene, REGSEC expressed its condolences to the families of those killed and injured in the violent incidents, including a shooting in Techiman South. The council condemned the acts of violence and promised to offer support to the affected families.

REGSEC also confirmed that investigations are underway into the shooting incident, with the Regional Election Security Task Force leading the probe. The council urged anyone with evidence to assist the Regional Police CID with the investigation.

Additionally, REGSEC called on all political parties and individuals involved to resolve their grievances peacefully and avoid violence. It appealed to all stakeholders, including the media and opinion leaders, to refrain from actions or statements that could incite violence.

The shooting incident occurred when security forces fired warning shots to disperse a crowd at the election collation center.
