Waakye Says Surviving Heart Attack Has Drawn Him Closer to God

Days after surviving a heart attack, veteran actor and comedian Prince Yawson, popularly known as Waakye, says it is time for him to draw closer to God and dedicate himself to His work.

He believes his life was spared so he can start anew by sharing the gospel and spreading God’s message.

According to him, “I feel God is trying to communicate something to me. He has been calling me to serve Him, but I kept making excuses. This experience is what will bring me closer to Him. I will begin evangelising or train to become a pastor so I can do His work. If I do that, I believe I will not face such a situation again. At one point I felt completely weak, but I realised God restored my life because He has an assignment for me.”

The actor was taken to the Trust Hospital in Osu by a coconut seller after showing signs of a mild stroke on Friday, March 3, 2017, and was later transferred to the 37 Military Hospital.

He added that he now spends more than Ghc 800 on medication each week, which is a heavy burden for him, and he is relying on God for support as He has always been his source of help.
