VVU Techiman Campus Celebrates Historic Graduation with Calls for Excellence, Integrity, and Service

The graduation ceremony, themed “Confronting a Global Pandemic: A Call to Excellence, Integrity, and Service,” marked the 27th graduation of Valley View University (VVU) and the 4th for its Techiman campus. To ensure those unable to attend in person could still participate, the ceremony was streamed live on social media and Hope TV.
The Chancellor was represented by Pastor Dr. Chris Annan Nunoo, the Executive Secretary of the Seventh Day Adventist Church’s SGUC, who officially opened the ceremony.
The atmosphere at the Techiman graduation can best be described as one of “Joyful Peace.” Whether it was the stunning ambiance, the calm nature of the attendees, or the remarkable qualities of VVU itself, the event felt truly special.
As always, the VVU choir delivered an exceptional performance, singing hymns and special numbers with their beautiful harmonies, all while looking splendid in their choir regalia. The VVU anthem, with its heavenly resonance, was a highlight of the event. It was a moment that showcased the multi-talented nature of the graduates, many of whom were part of the choir.
Pastor Dr. Chris Annan Nunoo delivered a powerful sermon titled “Integrity Robed in Royal Apparel.” His message emphasized the importance of integrity and obedience, teaching that partial obedience is essentially disobedience and urging the graduates to always count their blessings.
The event was further distinguished by the presence of notable dignitaries. Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong, CEO of GNPC, served as the Guest of Honour and shared how his Adventist upbringing had contributed to his success. He encouraged students to embrace technology, noting its importance in the modern world, and stressed the need for integrity in both personal and professional life.
Hon. Kwame Osei Prempeh, Esq., CEO of GOIL, was the Guest Speaker and also a long-time friend of Dr. Sarpong, with the two having attended the same SDA secondary school. Hon. Prempeh delivered a powerful message about the importance of character and integrity in education, advising graduates that intelligence alone is not enough—education must also nurture strong character.
Adding further prestige to the event, several Chiefs and Ohemaa’s from the local community, who are students at VVU Techiman campus, were present, reinforcing the idea that VVU is a respected institution for future leaders.
The event concluded with the graduates being inducted into the prestigious VVU alumni association. Pastor Harrison Takyi, the University Chaplain, closed the ceremony with a heartfelt prayer, marking the end of a memorable and inspiring day for all involved.
