Techiman Omanhene Urges Residents to Retain President Mahama in December Elections

The Omanhene of the Techiman Traditional Area, Nana Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, has urged residents of Techiman to vote to maintain President John Mahama in office during the upcoming December elections.

He noted that both the Techiman North and South constituencies have benefited from numerous development projects under the President’s administration. Among the projects he highlighted were the ongoing Tuobodom–Offuman road construction, improvements to Techiman township roads, and the establishment of two community day senior high schools in Techiman North and South. He also mentioned the government’s absorption of Kwarteng Ankomah SHS in Tanoso and Kesse Basahyia SHS in Oforikrom.

Nana Ameyaw IV made these remarks while delivering his welcome address at the inauguration of the Krobo Community Day SHS in the Techiman North District of the Brong Ahafo Region on Thursday.

He expressed appreciation to the President for the government’s consistent efforts in improving healthcare, citing the construction of nine CHPS compounds across the traditional area as a significant achievement.

The Omanhene also took the opportunity to appeal to the President to equip the women and children’s hospital currently being developed by the Techiman Municipal Assembly and the Ministry of Local Government with the necessary medical supplies and an ambulance once the facility is completed.

Additionally, he called for the establishment of a cocoa district office in the municipality, noting that Techiman has over 2,000 cocoa farmers and produces a substantial amount of cocoa each year. According to him, this move would greatly motivate farmers and help boost cocoa production.

He concluded by advising all stakeholders—particularly political parties and the media—to avoid the use of inflammatory language before and during the December elections.
