‘Ritual Killings’ Hit Techiman Municipality

One person has died, and another is critically ill at Holy Family Hospital in Techiman following suspected ritual killings in the Techiman Municipality.
Local journalist Ali Addo reported that the first incident took place near the former Armed Maternity Clinic in Techiman Zongo, where a man in his early 30s was killed and had his right eyeball removed.
“Residents discovered the man in a pool of blood this morning. It is suspected that ritualists may have been involved. Some locals I spoke with said they did not know the deceased,” Addo told mynewsgh.com.
The second victim, a man in his late 30s, also had an eyeball removed. He was still breathing when police arrived at the scene near the Techiman Central Market. The incident is believed to have occurred around 2 a.m. on Monday, May 29, 2017.
Police have ruled out theft as a motive but are continuing their investigation. Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Twumasi Ankrah, Techiman Divisional Police Commander, confirmed that an investigation has been launched.
The body of the deceased has been taken to the Holy Family Hospital morgue, where it awaits autopsy.
