Ghanaian journalist, Oheneyere Gifty Anti, has revealed that her life is often threatened due to her advocacy for feminism. Speaking on Daybreak Hitz, the StandPoint host shared that she frequently receives threatening calls from individuals accusing her of brainwashing young people.
She recounted, “Oh, plenty. Even yesterday… there are those who call saying they will beat me or kill me. They claim I’m poisoning the minds of the youth. Recently, they said I have betrayed women.”
Just a week ago, Gifty Anti spoke about how men are intimidated by powerful women, noting that accomplished women are often labeled as disrespectful, which she believes is an unfair stereotype. “Every man is afraid of a powerful woman.
People say they support confident, successful women, but when they see you advancing, things change. They associate power with rudeness, but I always say that’s just a character trait, not a gender issue,” she stated.
