Naa Adjorkor Koney Champions Sexual Assault Awareness and Education

Naa Adjorkor Koney, a finalist for Miss Malaika 2023, is determined to tackle the pervasive issue of sexual assault in Ghana. She aims to use her platform from the Miss Malaika contest to advocate for change and raise awareness about the often overlooked problem of sexual abuse in the country.
With a deep passion for the cause, Naa is committed to using her influence to support survivors and work towards preventing future incidents. She emphasized, “My project is based on sexual violence crimes in Ghana, which are often underestimated.”
Amid the glitz and glamour of the Miss Malaika competition, Naa’s focus remains on making a meaningful impact in her community. Her strength and selflessness reflect her genuine desire to promote both personal development and community empowerment, particularly for the people of La and the Ga-Adangme regions.
In an interview with La Noyaa TV’s Nii Manual Adjensah, Naa expressed her dedication to supporting her neighborhood, stressing the importance of building a reliable and impactful presence to create real change. She also expressed gratitude for her parents’ emphasis on education, which played a significant role in shaping her. Naa attended Christ the King School in Cantonment and later Wesley Girls’ School in Cape Coast, before continuing her studies at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Throughout her academic journey, she has remained active in extracurricular activities and has strived for excellence. “Education is something that has distinguished me,” she said, highlighting the importance of knowledge alongside beauty in the pageant.
Naa shared that her participation in Miss Malaika was inspired by the support and belief her friends and family had in her, not just for her looks but also for her academic achievements. She believes that while Miss Malaika celebrates grace and beauty, it also recognizes depth of knowledge. Naa aspires to make a significant contribution to society and sees the legal profession as a way to achieve that goal. She is currently pursuing a law degree at the University of Ghana School of Law.
