Okyeame Kwame Hails ‘Made in Ghana’ as His Most Powerful Project Yet

Ghanaian musician and songwriter Kwame Nsiah-Apau, known professionally as Okyeame Kwame, has described his newest album, Made in Ghana, as the most impactful project of his career.

He explained that bringing together all the artistes featured on the album—which promotes Ghanaian culture and identity—was a major challenge.

Made in Ghana is the biggest project I’ve done. Ten years ago, Ayensem brought me awards, but this album speaks to Ghana, inspires citizens, tackles tribalism, and addresses issues we often overlook. Getting everyone featured on it wasn’t easy,” he said in an interview with Melvina Frimpong Manso on Suncity 97.1 FM, monitored by newshuntermag.com.

When asked what he hopes the album will achieve, Okyeame Kwame said: “I want every DJ and presenter to put it on their playlists. I want people to learn from it. I hope it helps bring back true highlife music and sends a message to corrupt politicians to stop taking bribes.”

He added that all the artistes involved in the project serve as “Made in Ghana” ambassadors.

Okyeame Kwame also expressed his commitment to mentoring the emerging musicians who contributed to the album.

Reflecting on his long and successful career, he acknowledged highlife legends Amakye Dede and Kojo Antwi for their guidance.

“I send my recordings to Amakye Dede and Kojo Antwi. They’ve been in the industry for years, so I draw from their wisdom and follow the advice they give me,” he noted.
