Afia Schwarzenegger Slams Kennedy Agyapong Over Apology to John Mahama

Afia Schwarzenegger has sharply criticized Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the flagbearer aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), after he issued an apology to former President John Dramani Mahama for speaking harshly to him.
In her response, Afia argued that Agyapong’s apology to Mahama highlights the damaging nature of his previous public rants, which she believes have tarnished his reputation. She questioned whether Agyapong would also apologize to the many individuals and institutions he has insulted over the years, including women, the clergy, farmers, judges, and others.
“You claim we are friends, but did you apologize to the women for your words? Have you apologized to the clergy? To the farmers you called fools? To the judges you disrespected? To Charlotte Osei? Have you apologized to me?? Your presidential aspirations will be undermined by no one but yourself,” Afia posted on her Instagram.
Her remarks came after Agyapong publicly apologized to Mahama, admitting that he had not been fair in his previous criticisms of the former president. Agyapong acknowledged Mahama’s handling of their interactions and praised him as a “wonderful man.”
“I think I have not been fair to Mahama. He is such a wonderful man. I apologize; I am a human being. If I recount my relationship with him, all I want to say is I am sorry,” Agyapong said in an interview with Bola Ray on Starr FM.
Agyapong is vying to be the NPP’s flagbearer in the upcoming primaries against Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Minister of Food and Agriculture Dr. Afriyie Akoto, and former legislator Francis Addai Nimo. The NPP primaries are set to take place on November 4, 2023.
