Kaakie Rebuts Allegations That Her Latest Track Is a Subtle Jab

After releasing her trending song Sankwas—which means “nothing”—dancehall star Kaakie, born Grace Kaki Awo Ocansey, has dismissed media reports circulating within the entertainment industry.
The Ronaldo hitmaker recently dropped Sankwas, featuring Guru of NKZ Records.
Since its release, the song has gained significant attention, with many listeners speculating that the lyrics are aimed at fellow artiste MzVee.
According to information gathered by Blagogee.com, Kaakie’s lyrics include: “You wanna move like me / you wanna dutty whine like me / you wanna see us fall / but we rise above them all / them try hard to be we / but they end up skinny and lean / they wanna sing like we.”
These lines led some fans to believe the track was a jab at MzVee, who is notably Ghana’s first female dancehall artiste to be nominated for a BET Award.
However, Kaakie, who is also a trained nurse, addressed the rumors on Facebook, writing: “SANKWAS!!! is not directed at anybody… yet the original Sankwas are revealing themselves to the world!!!”
