King Promise Calls for Unity in Ghanaian Music Industry to Achieve Grammy Success

Popular Ghanaian hiplife artist King Promise has urged the music industry to come together and work towards securing a Grammy award.

In an interview on The Zone on Thursday, the Oh Yeah hitmaker emphasized that Ghanaian musicians should not limit their audience to just Ghanaians. Instead, he believes their target audience should be global if they aim to achieve international success.

He pointed out that platforms like Spotify offer alternative ways to promote Ghanaian music and make it accessible to the global diaspora.

“Other African artists market their brands with global strategies, and their music resonates worldwide. It’s not just for local audiences. There are various factors to consider, and not every Nigerian artist has made it either. There are big Nigerian artists who still haven’t won,” he explained.

King Promise added that if a Nigerian artist can win a Grammy without any animosity, it should be seen as a victory for all, marking an important milestone for the entire African music community.

The Grammy Awards, which are the most prestigious music accolades, are presented annually by The Recording Academy, honoring musicians across all genres and age groups. While the most well-known artists receive awards live on TV, many others are recognized off-screen in various categories.
