Three people have been confirmed dead following an accident at Nkwaeso, near Techiman in the Bono East Region on Thursday, September 8, 2022.
Two others are reported to be in critical condition after the collision, which involved a Matiz taxi (registration number BA 1163-19) and a Hyundai mini truck (registration number GT 2438-19).
According to reports, the Matiz taxi was traveling from Sunyani toward Techiman, while the Hyundai mini truck was heading in the opposite direction. Initial investigations suggest that both drivers swerved to avoid potholes, which led to the head-on crash.
The driver of the taxi survived, but three of the passengers in the vehicle lost their lives. The mini truck, which had one passenger in addition to the driver, also sustained injuries. Both the driver and passenger of the mini truck were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
