Vice President Expresses Condolences After Fatal Road Accidents on the kintampo-techiman road

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic road accidents that occurred on the kintampo-techiman road.

In a tweet posted on Friday, the Vice President emphasized the need for the country to implement effective measures to reduce the frequency of such accidents. He wrote, “My wife @SBawumia and I extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who sustained various levels of injuries and those who tragically lost their lives in today’s road accidents in Ghana.”

Bawumia also expressed his concern over the rising number of road incidents, calling for the government to take stronger action to prevent future tragedies. He added, “As a country, we need to put in place appropriate measures to drastically reduce the occurrence of such mishaps. We wish the injured a speedy recovery, and may the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.”

The accidents, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, are reported to have resulted in the deaths of as many as 60 people. Two buses traveling in opposite directions reportedly collided head-on at around 2 am, and both vehicles caught fire, leading to the heavy casualties.
