Three people have lost their lives in a fatal accident at Bono Manso, located in the Techiman North District of the Bono East Region. The tragic incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023.
The crash involved a Kia Granbird bus, registered AK 285-22, which was traveling from the north with an undisclosed number of passengers, and a trailer truck, registration number AS 4766, carrying multiple cans and bottles of Malta Guinness products. The trailer was headed from Accra towards the northern part of the country.
According to DOIII Henry Eshun, the Techiman Municipal Fire Service Commander, three people were confirmed dead at the scene, while 23 others suffered various degrees of injury. Of the injured, 11 are currently receiving treatment at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital, and 12 others have been transferred to the Kintampo Municipal Hospital.
DOIII Eshun further stated that investigations into the cause of the accident are still ongoing.
