Techiman Police Arrest Suspected Robber with Firearms and Cannabis

The Techiman Divisional Police Command in the Bono East Region has arrested a 34-year-old man, Stephen Debuo, on suspicion of robbery near Aboabo along the Techiman-Wenchi highway.
According to Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Kofi Sarkodie, Debuo was traveling in a commercial bus from Wenchi to Techiman when he was apprehended by the police patrol team. The suspect was found in a Nissan vehicle, and a search of his bag uncovered two locally-made pistols, cartridges, and a substance believed to be cannabis.
DSP Sarkodie detailed the items found, including a flashlight, GHS153 in cash, and two 12-bore cartridges meant for the pistols. When questioned, Debuo claimed he used the cannabis personally and was traveling to Techiman for a funeral. However, the police suspect that he may be involved in a criminal gang and had planned to meet with accomplices in Techiman.
The police have launched an investigation into the matter to confirm their suspicions of a possible robbery scheme.
