Techiman Municipality Kicks Off Nationwide Voter Registration Despite Online Challenges

The nationwide limited voter registration exercise, which was set to run from June 17 to July 7, 2019, has begun in full force in the Techiman Municipality.
When the ISD team visited the Electoral Commission’s Municipal office, it was bustling with activity, much like a busy marketplace. Political party representatives were also seen actively organizing efforts to ensure their eligible supporters were properly registered.
Abdul Sadique Wahid, the Municipal Director of the Electoral Commission, noted that the registration process is proceeding smoothly in the Municipality. The only challenge encountered so far has been slow internet speeds affecting the online registration system. To overcome this, they have been using BVR machines, which do not rely on an internet connection.
Mr. Sadique also mentioned that the office has planned a series of offline registration sessions at various centers within the electoral areas. He encouraged the public to take the scheduled dates seriously and attend their designated centers for registration.
A detailed list of registration dates and centers within the Municipality is provided below.
