Techiman North DCE Calls for Immediate Action to Resolve Chieftaincy Disputes

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Techiman North, Mr. Peter Mensah, has highlighted that chieftaincy conflicts are now the most significant threat to peace and security in the region, urging that these issues be addressed urgently to restore investor confidence in the area, which is known as the country’s food basket.

Mr. Mensah called on the Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) and the Regional House of Chiefs to work together and find lasting solutions to the ongoing and often violent disputes. He emphasized that if these conflicts are not resolved swiftly, they could jeopardize the region’s future economic growth.

In an interview with OTECNEWS, Mr. Mensah stressed that sustained development can only be achieved in a peaceful environment. He expressed concern that the ongoing disputes are hindering progress and urged the RCC to collaborate with the House of Chiefs to resolve these issues.

Additionally, he encouraged residents of the region to maintain a positive image of themselves in all aspects of life, both locally and nationally.

The DCE also called for regular meetings of the district security committees to assess the security situation and ensure that any potential conflicts are promptly reported to the RCC for further action.
