Sarkodie Reveals Anxiety During Heavy Rain at Rapperholic Concert in Kumasi

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has opened up about his anxiety during the heavy rain that nearly disrupted his Rapperholic concert in Kumasi.

In an interview with YFM Kumasi, shared on X on September 30, 2025, Sarkodie revealed that the rain, which started just minutes into the show, left him feeling nervous and extremely concerned for his fans.

Despite the large investment in organizing the event, his main worry during the downpour was the well-being of the fans who had paid to attend the concert.

“I won’t lie, I was nervous, really scared, especially for the fans. I kept thinking about the people who paid to see me,” he said, recalling that he had arrived for a sound check before the rain began.

Sarkodie explained that although it had rained throughout the day, he remained hopeful it would clear up by evening. However, when the downpour intensified, he found himself turning to prayer.

“The rain was so heavy, you could hear it on the roof. And I was like, ‘God, please get us through this.’ All the hard work, the promotion, the fans had paid money to be there. I wasn’t worried about the stage or the show – I just wanted to make sure the people were okay. It caused some chaos, and I was honestly very nervous,” he added.
