Prince David Osei apologises after ‘insulting’ Mahama

Controversial actor Prince David Osei has apologized to supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after facing backlash over remarks he made about President-elect John Dramani Mahama.
In a post on his Instagram on December 10, 2024, Osei expressed regret for his comments, emphasizing the need for unity moving forward. “I deeply apologize if my words during the campaign offended anyone from the NDC. We were all focused on winning, but now let’s move forward and live in peace. God bless Ghana,” he wrote.
This comes after Osei’s controversial post following Mahama’s victory in the 2024 election. In an attempt to congratulate the president-elect, Osei stated he would one day become president himself.
The comment sparked insults from some users, leading Osei to respond angrily, calling one commenter a “fool” and questioning why he couldn’t aspire to be president, pointing out that even a “drunkard” had been elected. His remarks were widely seen as an insult to Mahama, igniting anger among many, especially NDC supporters.
