Nursing Mothers and Pregnant Girl Sit for BECE in Techiman South Municipality

In the Techiman South Municipality, three exceptional candidates are taking part in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), including two nursing mothers and a pregnant girl, all of whom have defied the odds to continue their education.
The two nursing mothers, who made the brave decision to return to school after childbirth in order to prepare for and sit the exam, are enrolled at the Seventh-Day Adventist Junior High School (JHS) ‘B’ in the local area. The pregnant candidate, on the other hand, is studying at Presbyterian JHS ‘A’.
John Kwadwo Amissah, the Municipal Director of Education, expressed deep admiration for these students’ determination and resilience. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) before the start of the examination in Techiman, located in the Bono East Region, Amissah highlighted the remarkable courage shown by these candidates.
He described their return to school as “highly commendable,” emphasizing that their ability to balance motherhood and their studies while preparing for such an important exam serves as an inspiring example to others.
