NPP Confident of Victory in Techiman South Election Petition, Accuses NDC of Spreading Falsehoods

John Boadu, the General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed confidence that the party will emerge victorious in the ongoing 2020 Techiman South Parliamentary Election Petition case.
Boadu made the statement after the NPP’s lawyer, representing Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, completed cross-examining the NDC’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, on Monday.
Speaking with Citi News, Boadu also accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of spreading false information following the elections.
“We are confident that after the trial, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah of the NPP will be declared the rightful winner,” Boadu said. “We urge Ghanaians not to believe the NDC, who have been going around spreading falsehoods and distorting the facts.”
He went on to criticize the NDC for allegedly misrepresenting figures and misleading election observers, emphasizing that it was a common tactic of the party to deceive the public and sow confusion during elections.
The NDC is challenging the election of Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah as the Member of Parliament for Techiman South. The petition was filed by Dr. Christopher Beyere Baasongti, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the constituency in the 2020 elections.
