Guinness World Records Responds to Afua Asantewaa Aduonum’s Sing-a-Thon

After Afua Asantewaa Aduonum completed her sing-a-thon challenge, the Guinness World Records responded on social media.

The reaction came after Ghanaian journalist Abrantie Kwesi Gyamfi posted on Facebook, tagging the official Guinness World Records account and suggesting that Ghana would soon make its way into the record books following Afua Asantewaa’s achievement.

In their response, Guinness World Records stated they were eager to review the evidence and confirm the record.

Gyamfi wrote, “Hey Guinness World Records, Ghana is buzzing with the Sing-a-thon challenge with Afua Asantewaa O Aduonum. Ghana is joining your book of records soon.”

To which Guinness World Records replied, “Hi Abrantie. We look forward to receiving evidence, this event certainly seems to have captured the public’s imagination.”

Afua Asantewaa completed her sing-a-thon on Friday, December 29, 2023, reaching 126 hours, surpassing the previous record of 105 hours.

It is now up to the Guinness World Records team to review the evidence and determine if her record-breaking attempt will be officially recognized.
