DKB Drops Legal Action Against Akuapem Poloo After Pleas from Influential Figures

Comedian Derrick Kobina Bonney, widely known as DKB, has decided to drop the legal actions he had taken against actress Akuapem Poloo, who had accused him of withholding a GH¢4,000 donation.

DKB had initially reported the matter to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, expressing his determination to pursue the issue.

“The extent to which I went to support is the same extent I will drag you over this. It ‘go over’ you,” he had written, sharing the statement he filed with the CID.

However, on Friday, April 30, DKB announced in an Instagram video that influential individuals, including US-based gospel musician Dr. Sonnie Badu, had intervened and persuaded him to drop the matter.

He shared, “What really touched me was when Rosemond’s mother called one of the people and spent almost an hour crying and begging, saying she couldn’t even eat, and pleading not to have any police or court cases against her daughter.”

DKB explained that due to the heartfelt pleas and out of respect for those involved, he had decided to drop the case, including the defamation lawsuit. He also mentioned that his Christian beliefs influenced his decision.

Despite dropping the case, DKB has unfollowed Akuapem Poloo on all social media platforms and blocked her on WhatsApp.
