‘Cocoa season’ series to revive film industry – Lilwin

Popular actor and musician Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin says his upcoming TV series titled “Cocoa Season” is expected to help revive the declining local film industry.
The much-talked-about series features several well-known music stars such as Stonebwoy, Sista Afia, Yaa Pono, and Fameye, as well as respected actors including Kofi Adjorlolo, Vivian Jill, Mr. Beautiful, Kalybos, and Agya Koo.
Lilwin explained that he has been concerned about the growing presence of foreign series on local TV and wanted to create content that truly connects with Ghanaian audiences.
In an interview with GNA Entertainment, Lilwin stated, “Local movies help preserve our culture as a people and as an actor, I was not happy about how foreign series had dominated our screens.
“Despite the downfall of the film industry over the past years, I decided to do something creative that would receive the movie industry and continue to thrill movie loving fans.
“So I decided to combine veteran actors and popular musicians in this series so that both music and movie fans can have a feel of what their favourite artistes can do on the screens.”
Lilwin also mentioned that the new series is expected to be one of the biggest sitcoms to hit TV, offering plenty of excitement.
In recent months, he has produced other popular TV series such as “Borga Akwaaba” and “Police Academy,” both praised for being entertaining and educational.
