A tragic accident on Friday afternoon along the Techiman-Kintampo highway has claimed the lives of eight individuals. The collision occurred when a Mercedes Benz cargo truck, with the registration number AS 9554-G, which was loaded with furniture and canopies, collided with a Kia Sephia taxi (registration BA 1356-P) traveling in the opposite direction.
According to reports gathered by the Ghanaian Times, the accident took place in the afternoon, and eyewitnesses described it as a devastating scene. The cargo truck, which was heading towards Kintampo, reportedly lost control, veering into the path of the oncoming taxi. The impact was so severe that both vehicles were badly mangled.
Preliminary reports suggest that the crash occurred due to the truck driver’s loss of control, possibly from mechanical failure or reckless driving. The force of the collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles, leaving no chance for survival for the passengers in the Kia Sephia.
