Eight health workers of Techiman Catholic Diocese awarded

The Techiman Catholic Diocesan Health Service Directorate has honored eight employees from health facilities within the Diocese for their exceptional performance.

The awardees were recognized in two categories: junior and senior staff, with four winners in each group.

Mr. Barnabas Kwame Yeboah, the Techiman Catholic Diocesan Health Director, made the announcement during the 23rd World Day of the Sick celebration, held at Saint Teresa’s Hospital in Nkoranza, Brong-Ahafo Region, on Wednesday.

The one-day event, organized by the Directorate under the theme “I was eyes to the blind, and feet to the lame”, was funded by the Most Reverend Bishop Dominic Yeboah Nyarko’s Award Project. The initiative aims to encourage and motivate hardworking staff within the Diocese.

The junior staff awardees each received a table-top refrigerator, a certificate, and a citation, while the senior staff honorees were given a Samsung LED flat-screen television, a certificate, and a citation.

In addition to the staff awards, Mr. Yeboah also announced that two outstanding students from the Techiman Nursing Training School, Miss Josephine Amankwaa (a midwifery student) and Miss Belinda Adomako (a general nursing student), had been given special awards for their excellent performance in the 2013/2014 academic year. Both students received a Samsung laptop and a certificate in recognition of their achievements.
