John Peasah (Drogba) to Seek Medical Treatment Abroad Following Health Battle

Ghanaian actor John Bredu Peasah, widely known as Drogba from the popular YOLO television series, is preparing to travel abroad for medical treatment as recommended by his doctors.
This decision follows a wave of support from fans and well-wishers as the actor has been battling demyelinating disease for the past two years. In an Instagram post on March 8, 2024, Drogba expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received since his diagnosis, urging fans to continue supporting him and promising to provide regular updates on his treatment progress.
“It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me due to some challenges with my treatment and the need to seek care abroad as advised by my doctors,” he shared. “I want to thank everyone who has supported me up until now. Your concern and support mean a lot to me.”
He went on to say, “As I’ve been referred for further treatment abroad, I look forward to your continued support to help me receive the necessary care for this neurological condition. God bless you all for your help in saving my life.”
In March 2024, it was revealed that Peasah is suffering from demyelination, a serious condition that affects the nervous system and can impair vision, coordination, and sensation. His sister, Hannah Mensah, shared that his health issues began during the final season of YOLO.
In response to his condition, there has been an outpouring of support, including a visit and financial contributions from Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, as well as Drogba’s friends. Additionally, a fundraising campaign was launched to assist with the costs of his treatment abroad.
