The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Mahama Naser Toure, has died following a brief illness. He passed away at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
Mr. Toure was serving his fourth term in Parliament and held several significant leadership roles, including serving as the Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee.
He was also an active member of the Roads and Transport Committee, the House Committee, and the Private Members’ Bills and Motions Committee.
Confirming the news, the Second Deputy Majority Whip, Richard Acheampong, noted the significant loss to the legislative body. In accordance with Islamic tradition, the late MP will be laid to rest today at his residence in Nima, Accra.
