Atongo Zimba Announces Collaboration with M.anifest on Upcoming Album

Ghanaian musician Atongo Zimba, best known for his hit song “No Beer in Heaven,” has announced that he is collaborating with Ghanaian rap star M.anifest on a new project set to be released early next week, either Monday or Tuesday.
In an interview with YFM’s Haruna Babaginda on the Reggae Republic Show on Y97.9FM, Zimba revealed that the project was created to blend traditional rhythms with modern sounds to connect with the new generation. He also mentioned that while he initially wanted to collaborate with Kofi Kinaata, their meeting came too late for that to happen.
Zimba expressed that his music is more appreciated in Europe than in Ghana, attributing this to the younger generation’s lack of appreciation for traditional music.
An internationally recognized artist, Atongo Zimba has opened for notable figures like Fela Kuti, Hugh Masekela, Angelique Kidjo, Salif Keita, and other global icons. With nine albums already released, his tenth album is set to drop soon. Zimba is also known for building and playing the Koliko, a traditional lute, along with other electronic instruments.
