Students In Techiman North District Taken Through School Clinic to Prepare them for BECE

All 2015 BECE candidates in the Techiman North District participated in a one-day “School Clinic” program, organized by Iber Consult with support from the District Education Directorate.
The event, held on May 13, 2015, at Ekumfi Ameyaw SHS in Aworowa, saw over 800 candidates from 38 schools take part, alongside local education officials and representatives from the Aworowa Traditional Council and the District Assembly.

The program was designed to address common issues affecting student performance, such as lack of understanding of exam questions, psychological anxiety, and unfamiliarity with the exam environment. Organizers thanked Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, the Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, for her support in making the event a success, noting that her assistance was crucial to its realization.
In her speech, read on her behalf, Hon. Ofosu-Agyare emphasized the importance of education and encouraged the candidates to work hard, respect their teachers and parents, and stay focused on their studies. She expressed hope that the program would help the candidates perform well in the upcoming exams.
The District Director of Education warned against examination malpractice, stressing the serious consequences of such actions, including result cancellations and future bans from exams. Traditional leaders from the Aworowa Council also urged students to stay focused on their studies.
A key highlight of the event was a motivational session by Mr. Evans Owusu Appiah, who delivered an engaging talk on effective study methods, earning enthusiastic applause from both candidates and teachers. The Examination Coordinator also provided helpful tips on exam conduct, advising candidates to arrive 30 minutes early to the exam center.
At the end of the event, the District Director of Education announced plans to institutionalize the program and extend it to other students in the future. Students expressed their gratitude, saying the program had helped them gain valuable insights, and promised to perform their best in the upcoming exams.
