Criss Waddle launches ‘#FreeShowboy’ campaign

Showboy, legally known as Sam Kwabena Safo, a Ghanaian entertainer and co-founder of AMG BUSINESS, has been convicted and handed a six-year jail sentence.

For the past three years, he has been involved in a legal battle in Georgia, USA, after allegedly stabbing fellow Ghanaian, Junior US.

Showboy claims that his close friend, Criss Waddle, sent Junior US to deliver money and laptops to him. During the handover, Junior reportedly began speaking negatively about Criss Waddle, which angered Showboy and caused him to lose control. A heated argument followed, leading to a physical fight in Showboy’s Atlanta apartment, during which he stabbed Junior US with a pair of scissors.

The case was finally concluded on March 15, 2019, when a Georgia State judge found Showboy guilty and sentenced him to six years in prison.

Members of the AMG Business music team, including Criss Waddle and Medikal, expressed their disappointment and support for Showboy on Snapchat.

In contrast, Shatta Wale, the leader of the SM movement, reacted positively to the news and even said he wished Showboy would spend 100 years in jail.

Despite this, supporters are hoping for a review of the sentence and a successful appeal. The campaign hashtag, #FreeShowboy, continues to circulate as many pray it reaches the relevant authorities soon.
