Coronavirus has made me lose huge sums of money – Fameye

Talented Ghanaian musician Peter Famiyeh Bozah, popularly known as Fameye, explained in an interview with Sammy Kay on the Go Online show why he missed his scheduled performance at the University of Education, Mampong campus, and why he later apologised to the students in a humble manner.
The Nothing I Get singer revealed that he had performed at the University for Development Studies in Tamale the day before the Mampong event. According to him, the flight he boarded from Tamale was delayed for nearly three hours, and things became frightening when the pilot informed passengers midair that the aircraft was running low on fuel.
Because of this, he contacted the organisers of the Mampong show to cancel his appearance so he could either refund the money he had been paid or reschedule the event. He added that the ongoing threat of Covid 19 also influenced his decision.
However, out of respect for his fans and the students at Mampong, he later went to the campus to personally apologise. He knelt down before the crowd that had been eagerly waiting for him that night, a gesture that touched many Ghanaians.
During the interview, Fameye also discussed how the pandemic has affected him, but mentioned that he is now a father to a baby boy who he believes has brought great blessings into his life. He added that he plans to marry his child’s mother soon.
When asked about his expectations for the VGMA, he said he hopes to win several of the categories he has been nominated for this year, particularly the New Artiste of the Year award.
He encouraged Ghanaians to stay safe during the coronavirus period and urged everyone to stream his new song Long Life, which features Kwesi Arthur.
