Shatana Sweeps Three Major Honours at Ghana Leadership Awards

Fast-rising dancehall artiste Ranaya Pappoe, popularly known as Shatana — and sister of the late legend Terry Bonchaka — has secured major wins at the Ghana Leadership Awards.
At the ceremony held at the Accra City Hotel, the entrepreneur, motivational speaker and passionate women’s advocate walked away with three notable awards: the Generational Leadership Award, Favorite Artiste, and Adult Contemporary Award.
The Ghana Leadership Awards is a prestigious platform that honours individuals whose leadership significantly contributes to the growth of Ghana and the African continent. This year’s edition was themed “The Leadership Future of the Ghanaian and the African Youth.”
Organizers explained that Shatana was recognized for her exceptional leadership and influence within the entertainment industry.
In her acceptance speech, Shatana expressed gratitude to God and to the organizers for acknowledging her work. She also urged the public, especially with 2020 approaching, to avoid immoral behaviour.
The annual awards bring together top leaders from business, government, academia, philanthropy, media, entertainment, the clergy, and social impact sectors.
Other notable recipients this year included Auditor General Daniel Yaw Domelevo, MP and Deputy Minister of Communications George Andah, former Gender Minister Otiko Afisa Djaba, Crime Check Foundation’s Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, SAMBA Foods CEO Dr. Mrs. Leticia Osafo-Addo, and former Mental Health Authority CEO Dr. Akwasi Osei.
