Atwima Techiman Residents Urge ECG to Issue Electricity Bills After Five-Month Delay

Residents of the Atwima Techiman community in the Ashanti Region are urging the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to urgently provide them with electricity bills. They explained that due to technical issues with the local lighting system, they have not received utility bills for the past five months.

Since January, some residents have had their power cut off, leaving them without electricity, while others have resorted to illegally tapping power from their neighbors. The community also reported that frequent power outages have caused damage to household appliances.

In an interview with Opemsuo Radio’s reporter, Adwoa Serwaa Yonkodo, a resident stated, “As responsible citizens, we do not intend to use electricity without paying for it, so we ask ECG to promptly issue us with our bills.”
