NDC Secretary Attacked in Techiman South

The Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Techiman South was attacked during a constituency executives’ meeting in Tanoso, a suburb of Techiman, on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. The NDC official was reportedly assaulted by a group of men in the presence of other party executives, though the exact reason for the attack remains unclear.
However, some reports suggest that the assault may be related to internal tensions within the Techiman South NDC, stemming from events during the 2020 elections.
Following the attack, the victim was rushed to Ahhmadya Muslim Hospital in Techiman for medical treatment. The matter has been reported to the Techiman Divisional Police, who are investigating the incident.
Hajj Tanko, the Techiman South Constituency Communications Officer of the NDC, who was present during the attack, accused the Techiman South NDC Chairman, Nuhu Saliu Faawa, of orchestrating the assault. He described the attack as “deliberate and planned.”
In response, Nuhu Saliu Faawa denied the allegations, explaining that the incident occurred after a heated disagreement during the meeting over the NDC’s performance in the 2020 general elections.
