NPP Confident of Winning Techiman South Seat with Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah

Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Techiman South are confident that their parliamentary candidate, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, will strengthen the party’s presence in the constituency. They attribute his growing popularity to his caring, approachable nature, which has earned him the support of many in the area.

Jerry Amponsah, a member of Korsah’s campaign team, told Citi News that the candidate has already made significant strides in the constituency, despite not yet holding a parliamentary seat. “Korsah is the first leader Techiman South has seen with such vision. He is kind-hearted, empathetic, and always ready to help solve problems related to jobs, welfare, and more. He’s already begun improving the area by constructing roads, buildings, and other infrastructure. These actions show that he will undoubtedly secure the seat for the NPP,” Amponsah stated.

He also contrasted Korsah with his opponents, saying that while some engage in divisive tribal politics, Korsah focuses on addressing real issues and making promises based on policies that will benefit the people.

Techiman South has historically been a battleground between the NPP and the NDC. In 2012, NDC’s Adjei Mensah won the seat by 7,772 votes, but in 2016, NPP’s Henry Yeboah Yiadom-Boachie took it back with a margin of 1,573 votes. This year, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, who is also the Deputy Minister for Regional Reorganization and Development, is vying for the seat against NDC’s Christopher Beyere.
