NDC Supporters Alleged Election Rigging Attempt in Techiman South, Clashes with EC Officials

Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Techiman South constituency of the Bono Region have accused the current government of attempting to rig the elections by mixing fake ballot papers with the legitimate ones.

According to the NDC supporters, this led to a confrontation with Electoral Commission (EC) officials, resulting in an altercation. The supporters reportedly attacked the EC officials, seized the ballot boxes, and prevented them from delivering the boxes to the collation center.

JoyNews correspondent Anass Sabit reported that some of the ballot papers were torn during the clash, though the exact number of destroyed ballot boxes remains unclear.

In response to the situation, security personnel have been deployed to restore order. Meanwhile, unrest has also been reported at other polling stations across the country during the ongoing collation process. In the Awutu Senya West Constituency, a man was shot after attempting to steal a ballot box while the EC officials were counting votes.
