Two More Suspects Arrested in Adabraka Gold Shop Robbery Case

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has confirmed the arrest of two additional suspects connected to the robbery of a gold shop in Adabraka.

The individuals, identified as Hamza Agrigo and Alhassan Eliasu, were apprehended during an early morning intelligence operation in Ashaiman on Thursday, January 8. Police recovered various items during the raid, including firearms, ammunition, and bulletproof vests.

These arrests bring the total number of people in custody for the 2025 heist to three, following the previous capture of Salim Mohammed in November.

Speaking at a ceremony for the delivery of new police vehicles, the IGP emphasized that the Ghana Police Service is intensifying its crackdown on violent crime through both domestic operations and international cooperation.

He noted that partnerships with organizations like INTERPOL and the West African Police Chiefs Organization (WAPCO) have been instrumental in tracking fugitives across borders and rescuing human trafficking victims.

The IGP assured the public that these arrests are part of a broader, sustained effort to ensure national security and justice for high-profile criminal cases.
