Michael Blackson to Sue Ghana’s Ministry of Finance Over Locked Eurobond Investment

Michael Blackson has announced his intention to take legal action against Ghana’s Ministry of Finance for mishandling his Eurobond investment.
He had invested with the hope of using the earnings to fund his free school, the Michael Blackson Academy in Agona Nsaba. However, the investment has been locked up, forcing him to find alternative funding sources for the school.
Frustrated by the situation, Blackson took to social media on October 14, 2024, to express his anger and reveal his plans for legal proceedings. “I’m seeking legal action against the finance ministry of Ghana. I have a free school that I’m funding myself, and they took away the potential earnings I was counting on to support it. Now I have to figure out another way to help those kids,” he wrote.
Earlier, Blackson explained that he had purchased Eurobonds to finance the school, believing the investment would cover its operational costs. However, he claims the Ghanaian government used the funds to settle its debt to China, leaving him in a difficult position.
I’m seeking legal actions against the finance ministry of Ghana 🇬🇭. I have a free school I’m financing on my own and they took away the potential earnings I was going to use to fund the school. Now I have to figure something else out for those poor kids.
