Kalybos Sparks Debate After Revealing Why He Ended 5-Year Relationship and Married His Wife
Ghanaian comic actor Kalybos has sparked a social media debate after offering a surprising response to a question about why he ended his five-year relationship with his ex-girlfriend to marry another woman.
In a teaser for an upcoming episode of the Girls Aloud podcast, Kalybos was asked by one of the panelists why he didn’t marry his long-term girlfriend, Frimpongmaa, despite being together for five years.
The straightforward question from the panelist was: “Before you got married, you had a girlfriend for five years, Frimpongmaa, so why didn’t you marry her?”
Kalybos explained, “Being in a relationship for a long time doesn’t mean you have to settle with the person if things aren’t right. When you reflect on your situation and realize things aren’t working, then…”
Unsatisfied with the answer, the panelist pressed further: “So, things weren’t going well with Frimpongmaa?”
Kalybos bluntly replied, “No, it wasn’t.”
The conversation took a sharp turn when the panelist asked if Kalybos married his current wife because she is wealthy or from the diaspora.
“Did you marry your wife because she’s from the diaspora, or because she has money?” the panelist inquired.
With a serious expression, Kalybos responded, “Yeah, because she has money. She’s a rich woman.”
Kalybos recently celebrated his first wedding anniversary with his wife, sharing a heartfelt post on social media. The couple got married on November 10, 2023.
