Pappy Kojo Causes Scene at Uniland Festival Over Payment Dispute

Ghanaian hip-hop artist Pappy Kojo, also known as Jason Gaise, has once again made headlines following an altercation at the recent Uniland Festival in Accra.

The drama started when Pappy Kojo threatened to disrupt the event in a tweet, saying, “I’m coming with boys to stop the show. Next time, you will know who to play with.”

During the event, videos circulating on social media showed Pappy Kojo taking the DJ’s turntable from the stage. The altercation intensified when the DJ, identified as DJ Legend, confronted him.

According to entertainment journalist Dessy Fayden, an eyewitness from Metro TV, Pappy Kojo claimed the Uniland organizers owed him money for his performance, which led to the seizure of DJ Legend’s equipment. “That’s when Pappy Kojo grabbed my colleague @iamdjlegend’s controller because he said the organizers owed him,” Fayden explained. He added that the controller was damaged in the incident.

In more footage from the festival, Pappy Kojo was seen grabbing the microphone from the MC and announcing that the event was canceled. Bouncers later forcefully removed him from the stage, causing him to injure his ankle. He was seen being helped to an ambulance after the incident.

The altercation sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with some people criticizing Pappy Kojo’s actions, while others blamed the event organizers for their poor treatment of the performers.

The Uniland Music Festival, held at La Palm Royal Beach Resort on December 29-30, 2023, featured artists like Keche, Kwaw Kesse, Kofi Mole, and Tulenkey.
