Tuobodomhene Pledges Full Support for Nana Akufo-Addo Ahead of 2016 Elections

Nana Obeng Ameyaw Barimah II, Tuobodomhene and Akyempemhene of the Techiman Traditional Council, has pledged the full support of the people of Tuobodom to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), ahead of this year’s elections.
The Tuobodomhene expressed confidence in Akufo-Addo’s victory, noting that “in this world, it is only those who embark on good missions who are encouraged and supported.” He made these remarks on Sunday, July 10, 2016, during a courtesy visit by Akufo-Addo to his palace, marking the third day of the presidential candidate’s tour of the Brong Ahafo Region.
According to the Chief, “The NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Techiman North has been entrusted in my care. He is therefore my son. Thus, I can never turn my back on my son who is bringing something good home to his people. The Chiefs and people of Tuobodom assure you, Nana, that we are in complete support of you. We are backing you with prayers, and I am confident that you will win this year’s election.”
He also advised NPP supporters to avoid using abusive or intemperate language during the campaign period, emphasizing that respectful and humble communication is more likely to win the support of undecided voters. “Ghanaians will vote for you once you have a good message, and you present it to them in all humility and through the use of decorous language and patience. There are certain fights that can only be won with prayer. When you go to God in prayer, whatever you ask for in His name, he will do it for you,” he said.
Nana Obeng Ameyaw Barimah II also made a specific request of the NPP flagbearer, asking that when he is elected, the people of Tuobodom be provided with a nursing training college—a project he expressed confidence would be realized under Akufo-Addo’s leadership.
