Afrobeats and Highlife artist Gyakie, whose full name is Jacqueline Acheampong, opened up about the challenges of balancing her tertiary education with her music career during an interview with Amansan Krakye.
Gyakie, who is studying International Business at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), admitted that it’s hard to focus solely on her studies when her music career continues to gain momentum.
She explained that as her popularity as an artist grows, so does the difficulty of dividing her attention between her education and music. Even when sitting in class, her mind often drifts to music, making it hard to concentrate fully on her studies.
Despite the challenges, Gyakie, who released a remix of her hit song “Forever” with Nigerian artist Omah Lay in March 2021, emphasized her determination to complete her education. She reassured her fans that she is committed to graduating and is doing her best to ensure she finishes her degree.
