Techiman City Supporters Threaten Election Boycott Over Team’s Exclusion

Supporters of Techiman City FC in the Techiman Municipality of Ghana’s Brong Ahafo Region have warned that they will boycott the November elections if their team is not reinstated into the Premier League.
They are calling on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and its Ethics Committee to urgently restore the club’s status, insisting they cannot understand why their team is being mistreated after successfully qualifying for the top-flight league.
In an interview with Enoch Worlanyo Wallace on Asempa FM, the supporters described the Ethics Committee’s decision as deeply disappointing and demanded that the club be reinstated before the 2016 elections, or they will refuse to participate in the polls.
They issued strong warnings, saying: “If Techiman City is excluded from the upcoming season, count us out of the November elections. Anyone who brings a ballot box to Techiman will be cursed, and any GFA member involved should prepare for death.”
They added that they had worked tirelessly to see their team reach the Premier League and vowed that anyone who tries to undermine that achievement would face the wrath of the local deity.
