Yaa Pono Claims He Was Ghana’s Most Booked Artiste in 2017

Uptown Energy frontman Solomon Adu Antwi, widely known as Yaa Pono, has stirred discussion after boldly stating that he performed more shows in Ghana than any other artiste in 2017.

Speaking with Showbiz927 host Kenneth Addo on 3FM 92.7, the “fake” hitmaker bragged that he dominated the industry that year, playing about 300 shows thanks to the popularity of his song “Gbee Naabu.” He noted that although the track was a diss song, Ghanaians embraced it, making it a nationwide hit and boosting his bookings throughout the year. According to him, this contributed to him becoming the most booked artiste in 2017.

Yaa Pono added that he is unbothered by his absence from the VGMA Best Rapper category, explaining that it motivates him to work harder and release songs that will resonate with listeners.

He is confident that his album “Faster Than Gods” will win Best Album of the Year, along with Best Rapper of the Year, in the next edition of the awards.
