D.Cryme Urges Media Presenters to Treat Artistes with Respect

Ghanaian hiplife artiste Darlington Kwasi Agyekum, popularly known as D.Cryme, has urged radio and television presenters to treat artistes with respect when they appear for interviews.
He noted that some presenters have developed a habit of speaking harshly to artistes who arrive late, a trend he finds troubling. While he acknowledges that lateness can be an issue, he stressed that artistes sometimes face unavoidable challenges that delay them, and they deserve understanding.
Speaking to Bismarck Boachie (DJ Premier) on Accra 100.5 FM’s Entertainment Capital, he explained: “When you invite me to your station, my fans tune in as well, and that helps build your brand. The media space is now highly competitive, unlike the days when there was only one radio station.”
He added that presenters should handle such situations professionally: “No one just walks into a studio without preparation. Stations aren’t doing artistes a favour by interviewing them — the artistes’ presence also boosts the station’s image.”
D.Cryme also advised fellow musicians to communicate respectfully with producers if they cannot make it for an interview. “If you know you can’t attend, call and apologise. Don’t assume you have many options and therefore don’t need to explain,” he said.
