Award-winning artist Samini has revealed that he’s the type who prefers to stay low-key. According to him, he isn’t one to boast—he simply enjoys living his life quietly and fully.
Speaking on Hitz FM, Samini reflected on his musical journey. After sharing his inspiring rise, the host asked why he never shows off.
He responded, “Yes, I’m the kind of person who likes to stay in the background and enjoy life. I became successful very early. By age 22, I had already bought my first Camry, while others are now getting theirs. So flaunting things has never been my style.”
Samini also disclosed that he entered the industry through a musical feud, so “beef” is nothing new to him.
“Honestly, I came into the game through beef. I remember one time Yogi was on Top FM talking big. I was in a taxi with Tony, and we told the driver to take us straight to the station so I could confront him. Yogi was in the studio, and I just sat next to him. They handed me the mic—and the rest was history.”
He added, “In dancehall, you must always be ready to take shots and fire back as well.”
Samini is expected to host his annual SaminiFest in December.
