Techiman North Moves Forward with Mahama’s 24-Hour Economy Market Initiative

The Techiman North District Assembly has advanced preparations for the 24-Hour Economy Model Market project, a major national initiative championed by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
On Monday, August 25, 2025, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson, convened a meeting of the Assembly’s Technical Committee to assess proposed site plans and choose a suitable location for the district’s Model Market.
After an extensive review and technical analysis, the Committee unanimously selected a site in Tuobodom as the most appropriate location for the project. The market forms a central part of the 24-Hour Economy policy, aimed at boosting local commerce, generating employment, and offering a modern, secure space where businesses can operate at all hours.
The initiative will be executed by all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs), with funding from the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
Addressing the Committee, Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson highlighted the significance of the decision. “Choosing the Tuobodom site marks a major milestone for Techiman North. This Model Market will be a catalyst for economic growth, supporting traders, farmers, and the entire community. We remain committed to collaborating with all partners to ensure the project is delivered efficiently and successfully.”
The next stage will focus on detailed architectural designs and broader stakeholder engagements with the Tuobodom community to ensure the project aligns with local needs.
The Techiman North District Assembly reaffirms its commitment to implementing development initiatives that promote inclusive growth and enhance the well-being of its residents.
